Gather round tamariki
ma!
Time for today's special letter!
This one's really choice. You know that feeling you
get when you pull up at your driveway in the car at
night time after a loooooong trip? And you're all tired
and grumpy and your brother's being a dick, and you're
thinking you might be about to have a bit of a wa, and
then you look out the window and you see your house
waiting there, all nice and snug and cosy, and youse
all pile inside and someone turns on the lights and
chucks a few bits of kindling on the fire…
Well, that feeling is an H feeling.
Home. Come on guys, say it with me…
Now, apart from home, what other words
start with H?
Let's see… we should start with haere mai, a bit
of Hokey Pokey, your fav, there's the haka, Hamilton
and Happy Valley, you've got hot pools, hangi, a halfback
or three, the legendary Howard Morrison, huhu grubs,
a Heavenly Pop Hit, the mighty Hawkes Bay, a good old
Hilman Hunter, a few hay bales, a bit of Hokonui Hooch
moonshine, the horses, Hokitika, cheeky old Hone Tuwhare,
Henderson, a flash Hilux, Horowhenua, sneaking off hunting,
Hawera, hot as Holdens, healing Hanmer Springs, heaps
of honey and haere ra!
Home time!
